Natif AI — Vue.js AI Vision UI: 35% Higher Accuracy

35% higher interaction accuracy. AI vision frontend with real-time object recognition, heatmaps, and annotation overlays.

Vue.js · Vuex · AI/ML

The problem

Reviewers needed to mark detections quickly without fighting a UI that lagged behind the model stream.

What we did

  1. Built annotation overlays that track live recognition output.
  2. Added heatmaps so reviewers see confidence, not only boxes.
  3. Kept Vuex state tight so overlays stay in sync with the stream.

The problem with lagging overlays

In an AI vision tool, the model produces detections continuously. If the interface draws them late, reviewers click on boxes that have already moved or been replaced, and their corrections land on the wrong object. The model can be accurate and the workflow still produces bad data. The frontend had to keep up with the stream.

Overlays that track the stream

Annotation overlays were built to follow live recognition output, so what reviewers see matches what the model is reporting at that moment. Vuex state was kept tight, holding only what the overlays needed, so updates from the stream did not trigger unnecessary re-renders and the overlays stayed in sync.

Heatmaps show confidence, not only boxes

A bounding box says "something is here" but not how sure the model is. Heatmaps added that missing layer, so reviewers could focus on low-confidence regions instead of checking every detection equally. Showing confidence changes where reviewers spend their attention, and together with in-sync overlays it is what the 35% accuracy gain came from.

Applying this to your AI interface

Measure the delay between a model output and its appearance on screen, because that delay is where review errors come from. Keep client state minimal and avoid storing derived data you can compute on the fly. Then show model confidence directly in the UI, so people spend their time on the cases the model is unsure about.

Outcome

Interaction accuracy rose 35% after the overlay and heatmap workflow shipped.
